Welcome to Best Dingo

Did you know dingos hunt for awesome products?

We're a team of writers helping Aussies pick the best products for their home. Whatever item you need - coffee machine, portable air con, or work boots - we make it easy for you to make a confident decision on what to buy.

We do this by writing in depth buying guides after many hours of leg work researching products.

For you, this means no more countless hours reading reviews and forums. No more worrying if you made the right decision. This is your go-to guide for online shopping.

Who are we?

A handsome bunch - but jokes aside...

Best Dingo was founded in Australia during Melbourne's Covid-19 lock down. It seemed like a good use of time when locked up 23 hours a day.

How we pick products

It takes heaps of time!

We aim to pick the best products for the average Australian. We don't go straight for the most expensive professional gear. Although they may be the "best" in terms of features or finishes, they're often not the best for the needs of the average household.

Finding these products takes quite a bit of work.

Each guide we write takes many hours (even weeks) of research comparing expert sources and real user data. We also draw upon our own knowledge where applicable.

We're like a pack of dingos hunting for the best source of information.

We follow the below process when creating our lists:

Expert Insights and User Reviews
Our review process typically starts with us visiting Australian forums like Whirlpool and Product Review. We like to see what products are currently getting the attention of Australians to create our initial list.

After this we cross reference user favorites with industry experts. This will typically involve us visiting consumer advocacy sources as well as expert websites. We aim to use as much Australian data as possible, but will also look abroad if needed.

After we've done our ground work, we research key features people look for in a product category. This helps us narrow down our list even further. We only list products that satisfy the essentials features needed by consumers. If something is considered a "must have", our top pick must have it. This research also helps us write our buying guides that outline what to for look when buying a particular item.

Finally we break down our list into price points. We want to recommend products that are within the reach of the average person. So our top pick is usually a product that balances price, features, and durability. We also list budget picks and higher end choices for people to consider.

Once we finish our many hours of research, we get onto the task of writing so you can make a confident buy.

How we earn money

AKA our affiliate disclosure.

We aim to be a trusted source of information, so we want to be up front with you on how we make money.

We're reader supported. This means if you buy a product from a website we referred you to after clicking one of our links, we may earn an affiliate commission to help keep our lights on. We also make money from display advertising.

In order to avoid bias, we write our reviews before teaming up with partners to monetise our guides.
